Allowlist metadata fields to keep

By far the most requested feature is adding extra metadata fields to strip (#58 #72 #78 #85). A more scalable approach would be using a (configurable) list of metadata fields to keep.

Just found this project and I love the goal of it. We are now using GitLab for a school project and having the ability to blacklist outputs would be of major benefit. GitLab don't render without the output field.

I am unfortunately unable to submit a PR as Python is not my language. But I would love for this option to exist.

You know what, I did find --keep-output a while back, and that seems to be just what the doctor ordered.
