The MATLAB model here presented performs trajectory propagations based on the Constant Density Polyhedron algorithm. With this model, it is possible to compute trajectories in the proximity of astronomical bodies such as asteroids or comets. The algorithm also allows to compute ballistic trajectories.

Constant-Density-Polyhedron-Dynamical-Model

The MATLAB model here presented performs trajectory propagations based on the Constant Density Polyhedron algorithm proposed by Werner[1].

DynamicalModel.mlx

Use script 'DynamicalModel.mlx' to compute trajectories. A list of sample orbits can be found below.

importSTLmodel.mlx

Use script 'importSTLmodel.mlx' to import 3D astronomical body shapes in STL format. More astronomical bodies in STL format can be found here: https://nasa3d.arc.nasa.gov/models After importing the STL model, a workspace is created containing the triangulation data of the body shape. Note that the function 'selectBody.mlx' must be changed as well to include the new body shape.
