Sorry for ignoring this for over a year, life was a bit crazy when you submitted this. Anyways, the auto sync one makes sense, but can you explain the pros/cons of using silent mode vs the current notification volume/DND settings? Also, does the silentMode JS function correlate with the "Sound Mode" action in the Tasker UI?

All good, no problem! It's been a while so it might not be 100% accurate.

Yes, I recall that what I added corresponds to the sound mode in UI (despite the naming differences)

The benefit of sound mode is

  1. DND hides notifications. But most of the time I only want to mute my phone but still want notification
  2. It corresponds to my oneplus phone's physical audio slider button better, of having three mode. I can manually switch to silent/vibrate/sound via physical button, or automatically switch based on location/calendar event/etc.

That makes sense. Let me test this out on my Pixel as I assume it also correlates with the icons that appear above the media volume slider on Android 12.
