Alt+Enter duplicates if you're focussed on the URL bar, and Alt+D focusses the URL bar on Windows.

Are you sure its Ctrl+D? That shortcut bookmarks current page on Chrome/Windows 10. It has been this way for years.

I've been always using F6 to focus url bar.
