Resize

PyPI - Python Version GitHub repo size Project Blue Journey

Resize is a super-fast multithreaded batch image resizing tool. You can convert dozens of images in couple of minutes. This tool was developed by an astrophotographer for astrophotographers to make timelapses or startrails pre-processing phases faster and easier.

It preserves EXIF informations like Author, Date or ISO Speed during conversion. TIFF, PNG and JPG currently supported.

Resize is part of the Blue Journey Astrophotography project (more info below).

How it works

The tool usage is straightforward:

  1. Choose the images you want to resize
  2. Set:
    1. Output image quality from 0 to 100 (suggested 95 for better results)
    2. Image resampling algorithm (Nearest Neighbour, Bilinear)
    3. Length of the output image long size (ex. 1920)
    4. Output filename suffix (ex. "[MYIMAGENAME]_CONVERTED")
  3. Resize!
