xpense-trackr

xpense-trackr is a full-stack web application for tracking expenses, managing budgets, and analyzing spending habits. It provides users with a comprehensive toolset to manage their finances effectively.

  • Deployment: Docker for containerization and deployment to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Go 1.22+
  • Node.js 20+
  • MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Docker (optional)

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

     git clone https://github.com/your-username/xpense-trackr.git
    
  2. Navigate to the project directory:

     cd xpense-trackr
    

Docker Steps

  • For main Dockerfile - to start both MySQL and Backend container

Go to the main root directory. Run the following commands:

docker-compose up --build
docker-compose up

The build command can throw an error in the xpt-backend container, but that would not cause any issues. The second command will start a backend instance with dummy data given in mysql/init.sql on port 8080 in localhost
