Pokédex – SPA using Vanilla JS and the PokéAPI

Introduction

This is a Single Page Application created with Vanilla JavaScript and the Pokémon API 'PokéAPI', available in https://pokeapi.co/. Also, if you want to see and test this project, it is available in https://pokedex.federicotllorente.work/.

Starting with this project

You can clone this project into your localhost, so you can update it and make it better. Once cloned, all you got to do is start the App typing npm start in your terminal. A new browser tab/window will be opened in the localhost, most likely with the port 8080.

If not, just try opening in your browser http://localhost:8080. By the way, your terminal will be showing you the actual port where the App is running.

Using the production build

When you're ready to deploy the App, you can run the command npm run build so Webpack can compile the files to be ready for production. Anyway, you will have all the NPM commands in the package.json file in the project folder.

Comenzando con este proyecto

Puedes clonar este proyecto en tu localhost para que puedas actualizarlo o mejorarlo. Una vez clonado, todo lo que debes hacer para comenzar es ejecutar el comando npm start en tu terminal de comandos. Una nueva pestaña/ventana de tu navegador se abrirá en el localhost, lo más probable en el puerto 8080.

Si no, simplemente intenta abrir en tu browser http://localhost:8080. De todos modos, en tu terminal se mostrará el puerto en el que realmente se estará ejecutando la aplicación.

Usando el build para producción

Cuando estés list@ para hacerle deploy a la App, puedes ejecutar el comando npm run build para que Webpack pueda compilar los archivos para llevar a producción. De todas formas, tendrás todos los comandos de NPM en el archivo package.json en la carpeta del proyecto.
