Contribution guidelines

Contribung to Etherpad

We appreciate any contributions you can make, no matter how small. If you need help at any point, please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to support you and help you succeed.

In the past, we have had some issues with people claiming GitHub credibility by being assigned to Etherpad issues but not delivering any value for months. To prevent this from happening again, we have established the following guidelines:

Assignments will be based on demonstrated progress. We want to ensure that assignments are given to those who are actively working on the project and making meaningful contributions.

Please don't ask to be assigned to an issue. We will assign issues to you once you have shown significant progress on your own. This will help us to ensure that issues are being worked on efficiently and effectively.

If you are stuck on an issue, please ask for help. We are always happy to provide assistance. However, we do ask that you try to come up with your own solution first before asking for help. This will help you to learn and grow as a contributor.
