… log doesn't exist the log window is always displayed Hence unsure what purpose the closing of this provides and has created 2 issues for this It would be cleaner to include a timeout along with a "Show Log" in place of hiding the log

Issue #1815 and #1806 highlight that the update window disappears within 3 seconds of the update completing.
Curiously, this window remains permanently visible if the update log doesn't exist.
I've removed the 3 second timer which triggers hiding the window
