Instead of implementing the inhibit interface manually, you can do it simply as part of Gtk.Application: https://valadoc.org/gtk+-3.0/Gtk.Application.inhibit.html

@danirabbit settings-daemon is a GLib.Application. Does it make sense to derive from Gtk.Application if settings-daemon is a background application?
