Installation

1. Linux
--------
- Install perl 5.5 or greater 

	>sudo apt-get install perl

- Install CPAN Gedcom module 
	
	>cpan
	cpan[1]>install Gedcom

- Unzip illam.zip file into a directory of your choice

- Place database file (gedcom .ged format) in the unzipped directory

- Execute illam.pl

	>perl illam.pl <database file name>

2. Windows
----------

- Clone Illam at C:\

- Unzip pics.zip in the cloned folder.

- Install perl 5.5 or greater (download and install Strawberry perl available from strawberryperl.com/)

- Unzip illam.zip file into a directory of your choice

- Place database file (gedcom .ged format) in the unzipped directory

- Press Start

- Type cmd

- cd <directory where illam.zip> was unzipped

- Execute script

	>perl illam.pl <database file name>


Modifying database file (.ged)
-----------------------------

Use Gramps software available freely from gramps-project.org/
