The rancid-git repository will always try to stay compatible with the main releases, so you can always uninstall and install the latest RANCID with no loss of data. The only exception so far is the “git” extension, with which only the configuration files are portable, not your historical data.

Contributions are welcome and indeed encouraged! If you have a RANCID plugin/filter, please either mail it in or make a branch that I can pull from and I’ll integrate it as soon as possible.
