Welcome to the EvoPIE wiki!

This software is meant to implement an asynchronous peer instruction protocol. It allows students to reap some of the well-established benefits of peer instruction pedagogies, without the need for synchronous interactions in a classroom or even online. Quizzes are modified so as to allow students to exchange with one another additional information about why they rejected some of the available alternatives in multiple-choice questions. Based on sampling such justifications, they are allowed to revise their initial individual response, thus emulating the benefits of traditional peer instructions during which students exchange viewpoints regarding their initial responses in order to reach a consensus.

Beyond this first goal, we also aim at leveraging evolutionary computation techniques in order to orchestrate the evolution of pedagogically-sound distractors to our questions.
