Anki Vocabulary Decks Documentation

Intro

This Anki deck is designed to help users learn vocabulary in multiple languages, including Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, Valencian, and Italian. The deck focuses on improving pronunciation, spelling, and comprehension through a variety of language-specific fields.

Features

1. Spelling Practice (Card 1): Users see an image and hear the pronunciation, then attempt to spell the corresponding word. The correct spelling is revealed, and differences are highlighted in red for quick error identification.

2. Pronunciation Practice (Card 2): Users hear the pronunciation, see an image, and optionally type the word. The correct word is shown, and differences between the user's input and the correct word are highlighted in red and green, respectively.

This repository is dedicated to a vocabulary learning deck that includes words in English, French, Catalan / Valencian, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. Each card includes the word, sometimes an image, the translation to English, and the option to add recordings for better retention.

Usage Notes:

This Anki deck is designed to assist in learning basic English vocabulary.

The cards and content included in this deck are provided "as is," and there is no guarantee of their accuracy or completeness.

The images and audio files used in this deck have been obtained from publicly available sources, so they are presumed to be freely usable. However, there is no information available regarding their origin or original licenses.

This deck is provided for free for exclusive use in educational and learning purposes. You may distribute it as teaching material, as long as there is no associated commercial objective.

Requirements

• Anki: Version ⁨2.1.60 (last version it was used on, should also work on higher versions)

Installation

1. Download the deck, it's the ".apkg" file. Alternatively, you can clone the entire repository if you prefer.
2. Open Anki: Launch the Anki application on your computer.
3. Import the deck: On the main screen of Anki, click on "File" in the top menu bar and select "Import." Locate the deck file you downloaded and select it. Click "Open" to start the import process.

Features

This Anki deck consists of two notes per word. The first one displays an image and a file with the pronunciation of the word. The user can write the corresponding word. When checking their answer, the word they wrote and the correct word are displayed. Correct responses are shown in green, and errors in red.

In the second note, the image representing the word and the word itself are shown. The user will attempt to pronounce it as best as they can. After completing the test, the user can listen to the correct pronunciation and repeat the sound to verify their pronunciation as many times as they want.

Cards

Each deck has a set of two Cards:

Card 1: How do you spell this word? 

Front side: Presents the user with an image of a word and asks how it is pronounced. Additionally, the image representing the word is displayed.

Back side: On the back of the card, the Spanish translation of the word is shown, along with its phonetic transcription in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). If a recording of the word's pronunciation is available, it is played. This allows the user to learn the correct pronunciation of the word and improve their listening skills in the English language.

Card 2: How do you pronounce this word? 

Front side: Presents the user with an image related to a word and plays the recording of the pronunciation of that word. The user has the option to type the word they think corresponds to the image and its pronunciation.

Back side: The correct word is displayed, and a comparison is made with what the user has written. Differences between the word written by the user and the correct word will be highlighted in red, while the correct parts will be shown in green. This allows the user to quickly identify errors in their response. Typing the word is not mandatory if the user chooses not to do so.

Requisitos

Instalación

1. Descarga el mazo, es el archivo ".apkg". También puedes clonar todo el repositorio si lo prefieres.
2. Abre Anki: Inicia la aplicación Anki en tu computadora.
3. Importa el mazo: En la pantalla principal de Anki, haz clic en "Archivo" en la barra de menú superior y selecciona "Importar". Busca el archivo del mazo que descargaste y selecciónalo. Haz clic en "Abrir" para comenzar el proceso de importación.

Características

Este mazo de Anki consta de dos notas por palabra. La primera muestra una imagen y un archivo con la pronunciación de la palabra. El usuario puede escribir la palabra correspondiente. Cuando comprueba su respuesta, se muestran la palabra que escribió y la palabra correcta. Los aciertos se muestran en verde y los errores en rojo.

En la segunda nota, se muestra la imagen que representa la palabra y la propia palabra. El usuario intentará pronunciarla lo mejor que pueda. Después de completar la prueba, el usuario podrá escuchar la pronunciación correcta y repetir el sonido para verificar su pronunciación las veces que desee.

Tarjeta (Card) 1: ¿Cómo deletreas esta palabra?


Parte frontal: Presenta al usuario la imagen de una palabra y le pregunta cómo se pronuncia. Además, se muestra la imagen que representa la palabra.

Parte posterior: En la parte posterior de la tarjeta, se muestra la traducción al español de la palabra, así como su transcripción fonética en el Alfabeto Fonético Internacional (IPA). Si hay disponible una grabación de la pronunciación de la palabra, se reproduce. Esto permite al usuario aprender la pronunciación correcta de la palabra y mejorar su habilidad auditiva en el idioma inglés.

Tarjeta (Card) 2: ¿Cómo pronuncias esta palabra?


Parte frontal: Presenta al usuario una imagen relacionada con una palabra y reproduce la grabación de la pronunciación de esa palabra. El usuario tiene la opción de teclear la palabra que cree que corresponde a la imagen y la pronunciación.

Parte posterior: Se muestra la palabra correcta y se realiza una comparación con lo que el usuario ha escrito. Las diferencias entre la palabra escrita por el usuario y la palabra correcta se resaltarán en rojo, mientras que las partes correctas se mostrarán en verde. Esto permite al usuario identificar rápidamente los errores en su respuesta. No es obligatorio que el usuario teclee la palabra si no lo desea.
