Getting and cleaning data

Course project README file

The purpose of this project is to demonstrate your ability to collect, work with, and clean a data set. The goal is to prepare tidy data that can be used for later analysis. You will be graded by your peers on a series of yes/no questions related to the project.

Prerequisites

Download and unpack the following file to the directory where the run_analyis.R script resides: https://d396qusza40orc.cloudfront.net/getdata%2Fprojectfiles%2FUCI%20HAR%20Dataset.zip

Processing data

1. set current working directory to the parent directory of run_analyis.R.
2. Execute run_analyis.R.

Outputs

There are two output files:

• clean_data.txt
• clean_data_with_average.txt
