There are a few places which check nl80211hdr_put() for an ERR_PTR
but actually it returns NULL on error and never error values.  In
nl80211_testmode_dump() the return wasn't checked at all so I have
added one.

In August 2012, Matthew Gretton-Dann checked a change into binutils
labelled "Error on obsolete & warn on deprecated registers", apparently as
part of ARMv8 support. Apparently, this was supposed to emit the message
"Warning: This coprocessor register access is deprecated in ARMv8" when
using certain mcr/mrc instructions and building for ARMv8. Unfortunately,
the message that is actually emitted appears to be '(null)', which is
less helpful in comparison.

Even more unfortunately, this is biting us on every single kernel
build with a new gas, because arch/arm/boot/compressed/head.S and some
other files in that directory are built with -march=all since kernel
commit 80cec14 "[ARM] Add -march=all to assembly file build in
arch/arm/boot/compressed" back in v2.6.28.

This patch reverts Russell's nice solution and instead marks the head.S
file to be built for armv7-a, which fortunately lets us build all
instructions in that file without warnings even on the broken binutils.

Without this patch, building anything results in:

Modern GCC can generate code which makes use of the CPU's native
unaligned memory access capabilities.  This is useful for the C
decompressor implementations used for unpacking compressed kernels.

This patch disables alignment faults and enables the v6 unaligned
access model on CPUs which support these features (i.e., v6 and
later), allowing full unaligned access support for C code in the
decompressor.

The decompressor C code must not be built to assume that unaligned
access works if support for v5 or older platforms is included in
the kernel.

For correct code generation, C decompressor code must always use
the get_unaligned and put_unaligned accessors when dealing with
unaligned pointers, regardless of this patch.

Non-root user-space processes can send Netlink messages to other
processes that are well-known for being subscribed to Netlink
asynchronous notifications. This allows ilegitimate non-root
process to send forged messages to Netlink subscribers.

The userspace process usually verifies the legitimate origin in
two ways:

a) Socket credentials. If UID != 0, then the message comes from
   some ilegitimate process and the message needs to be dropped.

b) Netlink portID. In general, portID == 0 means that the origin
   of the messages comes from the kernel. Thus, discarding any
   message not coming from the kernel.

However, ctnetlink sets the portID in event messages that has
been triggered by some user-space process, eg. conntrack utility.
So other processes subscribed to ctnetlink events, eg. conntrackd,
know that the event was triggered by some user-space action.

Neither of the two ways to discard ilegitimate messages coming
from non-root processes can help for ctnetlink.

This patch adds capability validation in case that dst_pid is set
in netlink_sendmsg(). This approach is aggressive since existing
applications using any Netlink bus to deliver messages between
two user-space processes will break. Note that the exception is
NETLINK_USERSOCK, since it is reserved for netlink-to-netlink
userspace communication.

Still, if anyone wants that his Netlink bus allows netlink-to-netlink
userspace, then they can set NL_NONROOT_SEND. However, by default,
I don't think it makes sense to allow to use NETLINK_ROUTE to
communicate two processes that are sending no matter what information
that is not related to link/neighbouring/routing. They should be using
NETLINK_USERSOCK instead for that.

The l2tp [get|set]sockopt() code has fallen back to the UDP functions
for socket option levels != SOL_PPPOL2TP since day one, but that has
never actually worked, since the l2tp socket isn't an inet socket.

As David Miller points out:

  "If we wanted this to work, it'd have to look up the tunnel and then
   use tunnel->sk, but I wonder how useful that would be"

Since this can never have worked so nobody could possibly have depended
on that functionality, just remove the broken code and return -EINVAL.

nf_conntrack_free() decrements our counter (net->ct.count)
before releasing the conntrack object. That counter is used in the
nf_conntrack_cleanup_net_list path to check if it's time to
kmem_cache_destroy our cache of conntrack objects. I think we have
a race there that should be easier to trigger (although still hard)
with CONFIG_DEBUG_OBJECTS_FREE as object releases become slowier
according to the following splat:

* fix skb->dev vs par->in/out
When there is some forwarding going on, it introduces extra state
around devs associated with xt_action_param->in/out and sk_buff->dev.
E.g.
   par->in and par->out are both set, or
   skb->dev and par->out are both set (and different)
This would lead qtaguid to make the wrong assumption about the
direction and update the wrong device stats.
Now we rely more on par->in/out.

* Fix handling when qtaguid is used as "owner"
When qtaguid is used as an owner module, and sk_socket->file is
not there (happens when tunnels are involved), it would
incorrectly do a tag stats update.

* Correct debug messages.

The default initial rwnd is hardcoded to 10.

Now we allow it to be controlled via
  /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_default_init_rwnd
which limits the values from 3 to 100

This is somewhat needed because ipv6 routes are
autoconfigured by the kernel.

Taking the gratuitous ARP/unsolicited NA detection code from
mwifiex (but fixing it up to not have read-after-skb-end bugs),
implement the ability for userspace to request the behaviour
required by HS2.0 to drop gratuitous ARP and unsolicited NA
frames when proxy ARP service is enabled on the AP. Since this
behaviour is only mandatory for HS2.0 and may not always be
desired, make it optional - modify cfg80211/nl80211 for that.

Not caching dst_entries which cause redirects could be exploited by hosts
on the same subnet, causing a severe DoS attack. This effect aggravated
since commit f886497 ("ipv4: fix dst race in sk_dst_get()").

Lookups causing redirects will be allocated with DST_NOCACHE set which
will force dst_release to free them via RCU.  Unfortunately waiting for
RCU grace period just takes too long, we can end up with >1M dst_entries
waiting to be released and the system will run OOM. rcuos threads cannot
catch up under high softirq load.

Attaching the flag to emit a redirect later on to the specific skb allows
us to cache those dst_entries thus reducing the pressure on allocation
and deallocation.

This issue was discovered by Marcelo Leitner.

Dmitry Chernenkov used KASAN to discover that eCryptfs writes past the
end of the allocated buffer during encrypted filename decoding. This
fix corrects the issue by getting rid of the unnecessary 0 write when
the current bit offset is 2.

Given following iptables ruleset:

-P FORWARD DROP
-A FORWARD -m sctp --dport 9 -j ACCEPT
-A FORWARD -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT
-A FORWARD -p tcp -m conntrack -m state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT

One would assume that this allows SCTP on port 9 and TCP on port 80.
Unfortunately, if the SCTP conntrack module is not loaded, this allows
*all* SCTP communication, to pass though, i.e. -p sctp -j ACCEPT,
which we think is a security issue.

This is because on the first SCTP packet on port 9, we create a dummy
"generic l4" conntrack entry without any port information (since
conntrack doesn't know how to extract this information).

All subsequent packets that are unknown will then be in established
state since they will fallback to proto_generic and will match the
'generic' entry.

Our originally proposed version [1] completely disabled generic protocol
tracking, but Jozsef suggests to not track protocols for which a more
suitable helper is available, hence we now mitigate the issue for in
tree known ct protocol helpers only, so that at least NAT and direction
information will still be preserved for others.

__mnt_make_shortterm() in there undoes the effect of __mnt_make_longterm()
we'd done back when we set ->mnt_ns non-NULL; it should not be done to
vfsmounts that had never gone through commit_tree() and friends.  Kudos to
lczerner for catching that one...

Kenton Varda <kenton@sandstorm.io> discovered that by remounting a
read-only bind mount read-only in a user namespace the
MNT_LOCK_READONLY bit would be cleared, allowing an unprivileged user
to the remount a read-only mount read-write.

Correct this by replacing the mask of mount flags to preserve
with a mask of mount flags that may be changed, and preserve
all others.   This ensures that any future bugs with this mask and
remount will fail in an easy to detect way where new mount flags
simply won't change.

Andy Lutomirski recently demonstrated that when chroot is used to set
the root path below the path for the new ``root'' passed to pivot_root
the pivot_root system call succeeds and leaks mounts.

In examining the code I see that starting with a new root that is
below the current root in the mount tree will result in a loop in the
mount tree after the mounts are detached and then reattached to one
another.  Resulting in all kinds of ugliness including a leak of that
mounts involved in the leak of the mount loop.

Prevent this problem by ensuring that the new mount is reachable from
the current root of the mount tree.

Some occurences in the netfilter tree use skb_header_pointer() in
the following way ...

  struct dccp_hdr _dh, *dh;
  ...
  skb_header_pointer(skb, dataoff, sizeof(_dh), &dh);

... where dh itself is a pointer that is being passed as the copy
buffer. Instead, we need to use &_dh as the forth argument so that
we're copying the data into an actual buffer that sits on the stack.

Currently, we probably could overwrite memory on the stack (e.g.

We used to read file_handle twice. Once to get the amount of extra bytes, and
once to fetch the entire structure.

This may be problematic since we do size verifications only after the first
read, so if the number of extra bytes changes in userspace between the first
and second calls, we'll have an incoherent view of file_handle.

Instead, read the constant size once, and copy that over to the final
structure without having to re-read it again.

Sasha Levin found a NULL pointer dereference that is due to a missing
page table lock, which in turn is due to the pmd entry in question being
a transparent huge-table entry.

The code - introduced in commit 1998cc0 ("mm: make
madvise(MADV_WILLNEED) support swap file prefetch") - correctly checks
for this situation using pmd_none_or_trans_huge_or_clear_bad(), but it
turns out that that function doesn't work correctly.

pmd_none_or_trans_huge_or_clear_bad() expected that pmd_bad() would
trigger if the transparent hugepage bit was set, but it doesn't do that
if pmd_numa() is also set. Note that the NUMA bit only gets set on real
NUMA machines, so people trying to reproduce this on most normal
development systems would never actually trigger this.

Fix it by removing the very subtle (and subtly incorrect) expectation,
and instead just checking pmd_trans_huge() explicitly.

Allocating skbs when sending out neighbour discovery messages
currently uses sock_alloc_send_skb() based on a per net namespace
socket and thus share a socket wmem buffer space.

If a netdevice is temporarily unable to transmit due to carrier
loss or for other reasons, the queued up ndisc messages will cosnume
all of the wmem space and will thus prevent from any more skbs to
be allocated even for netdevices that are able to transmit packets.

The number of neighbour discovery messages sent is very limited,
use of alloc_skb() bypasses the socket wmem buffer size enforcement
while the manual call to skb_set_owner_w() maintains the socket
reference needed for the IPv6 output path.

This patch has orginally been posted by Eric Dumazet in a modified
form.

Setting an empty security context (length=0) on a file will
lead to incorrectly dereferencing the type and other fields
of the security context structure, yielding a kernel BUG.
As a zero-length security context is never valid, just reject
all such security contexts whether coming from userspace
via setxattr or coming from the filesystem upon a getxattr
request by SELinux.

Setting a security context value (empty or otherwise) unknown to
SELinux in the first place is only possible for a root process
(CAP_MAC_ADMIN), and, if running SELinux in enforcing mode, only
if the corresponding SELinux mac_admin permission is also granted
to the domain by policy.  In Fedora policies, this is only allowed for
specific domains such as livecd for setting down security contexts
that are not defined in the build host policy.

[On Android, this can only be set by root/CAP_MAC_ADMIN processes,
and if running SELinux in enforcing mode, only if mac_admin permission
is granted in policy.  In Android 4.4, this would only be allowed for
root/CAP_MAC_ADMIN processes that are also in unconfined domains. In current
AOSP master, mac_admin is not allowed for any domains except the recovery
console which has a legitimate need for it.  The other potential vector
is mounting a maliciously crafted filesystem for which SELinux fetches
xattrs (e.g. an ext4 filesystem on a SDcard).  However, the end result is
only a local denial-of-service (DOS) due to kernel BUG.  This fix is
queued for 3.14.]

Caveat:
Relabeling or removing foo after doing the above may not be possible
without booting with SELinux disabled.  Any subsequent access to foo

An issue was observed when a userspace task exits.
The page which hits error here is the zero page.
In binder mmap, the whole of vma is not mapped.
On a task crash, when debuggerd reads the binder regions,
the unmapped areas fall to do_anonymous_page in handle_pte_fault,
due to the absence of a vm_fault handler. This results in
zero page being mapped. Later in zap_pte_range, vm_normal_page
returns zero page in the case of VM_MIXEDMAP and it results in the
error.

Investigating, I found that the inode->i_security was NULL, and the
dereference of it caused the oops.

in selinux_inode_permission():

	isec = inode->i_security;

	rc = avc_has_perm_noaudit(sid, isec->sid, isec->sclass, perms, 0, &avd);

Note, the crash came from stressing the deletion and reading of debugfs
files.  I was not able to recreate this via normal files.  But I'm not
sure they are safe.  It may just be that the race window is much harder
to hit.

What seems to have happened (and what I have traced), is the file is
being opened at the same time the file or directory is being deleted.
As the dentry and inode locks are not held during the path walk, nor is
the inodes ref counts being incremented, there is nothing saving these
structures from being discarded except for an rcu_read_lock().

The rcu_read_lock() protects against freeing of the inode, but it does
not protect freeing of the inode_security_struct.  Now if the freeing of
the i_security happens with a call_rcu(), and the i_security field of
the inode is not changed (it gets freed as the inode gets freed) then
there will be no issue here.  (Linus Torvalds suggested not setting the
field to NULL such that we do not need to check if it is NULL in the
permission check).

Note, this is a hack, but it fixes the problem at hand.  A real fix is
to restructure the destroy_inode() to call all the destructor handlers
from the RCU callback.  But that is a major job to do, and requires a
lot of work.  For now, we just band-aid this bug with this fix (it
works), and work on a more maintainable solution in the future.

Investigating, I found that the inode->i_security was NULL, and the
dereference of it caused the oops.

in selinux_inode_permission():

	isec = inode->i_security;

	rc = avc_has_perm_noaudit(sid, isec->sid, isec->sclass, perms, 0, &avd);

Note, the crash came from stressing the deletion and reading of debugfs
files.  I was not able to recreate this via normal files.  But I'm not
sure they are safe.  It may just be that the race window is much harder
to hit.

What seems to have happened (and what I have traced), is the file is
being opened at the same time the file or directory is being deleted.
As the dentry and inode locks are not held during the path walk, nor is
the inodes ref counts being incremented, there is nothing saving these
structures from being discarded except for an rcu_read_lock().

The rcu_read_lock() protects against freeing of the inode, but it does
not protect freeing of the inode_security_struct.  Now if the freeing of
the i_security happens with a call_rcu(), and the i_security field of
the inode is not changed (it gets freed as the inode gets freed) then
there will be no issue here.  (Linus Torvalds suggested not setting the
field to NULL such that we do not need to check if it is NULL in the
permission check).

Note, this is a hack, but it fixes the problem at hand.  A real fix is
to restructure the destroy_inode() to call all the destructor handlers
from the RCU callback.  But that is a major job to do, and requires a
lot of work.  For now, we just band-aid this bug with this fix (it
works), and work on a more maintainable solution in the future.

If a user key gets negatively instantiated, an error code is cached in the
payload area.  A negatively instantiated key may be then be positively
instantiated by updating it with valid data.  However, the ->update key
type method must be aware that the error code may be there.
