Gisty

A Web application that allows for storage and editing of markdown snippets.

Project structure

The project consists of the following files

• Shuttle.toml contains the name of the app (if name is gisty domain will be gisty.shuttleapp.rs)
• src/lib.rs is where all the magic happens - it creates a shuttle service

Prerequisites

Depends on openssl@1.1 to be installed and added to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/opt/openssl@1.1/lib

Running the service locally

cargo shuttle run

Example Requests

Perform an upload

echo "Hello World" | curl --data-binary @- https://gisty.shuttleapp.rs/

View the contexts of an update

curl https://gisty.shuttleapp.rs/{id}

Retrieve all uploads ids

curl https://gisty.shuttleapp.rs/all | jq .

How to deploy

To deploy this app, check out the repository locally

git clone https://github.com/apoclyps/gisty.git

navigate to gisty

cd gisty

install shuttle

cargo install cargo-shuttle

login to shuttle

cargo shuttle login

Pick a project name that is unique in shuttle, projects are globally unique. Then run

cargo shuttle project new --name=$PROJECT_NAME
cargo shuttle deploy --name=$PROJECT_NAME

Deployment

If you wish to deploy the latest commit:

cargo shuttle deploy

If you have unstaged changes you can append the --allow-dirty flag to the command.
