This program extracts inlet/outlet surfaces of 3D grids. Grids with any type of cell and various file extentions such as *.vtk and *.vtu can be used.

In ParaView, from tools menu open Manage Plugins. Then load bin/libFeatureSurface.so file. Next, in Filters menu go to Extensions and apply Feature Surface filter to your pipeline.
