The Vundle project is primarily maintained by the Vundle team. In addition volunteers are more than welcome to contribute to handling issues and do development work on improvements.

Please see Development Workflow for details on how to contribute with development and fixes.

Posting an issue

If you experience an issue or problem with Vundle, it is important that you make it as easy as possible for others to help you find a solution. There are some key-items you should go through, before posting an issue. Please follow these guidelines for reporting an issue.

Handling and responding to issues

There are a large number of incoming issues, where many of them are more user support than actual issue handling. The contribution of volunteers on answering on issues is greatly appreciated.

Dealing with Issues

  1. Try to reproduce the issue.
  2. close it if it's a non-issue
  3. close if it's a duplicate referring for the original issue
  4. decide whether it's a bug or feature or windows only issue
  5. label it respectively
  6. notify others for feedback or review if needed.
  7. add yours...

Handling old issues

We currently have a large number of open issues. Some of these may be outdated, if you feel like contributing you are welcome to pick up one or two of these.

  1. Ask the original poster what the status of the issue is, and if it is still present. Encourage closing if the issue is solved.
  2. If you do not receive a response from the poster within 10 days, you may ping the team members who may consider closing the issue. Please give a short list of reasoning to why the issue can be closed.
