The current download scripts do not run properly,as it appears files have been deleted from this repo that they require.
For example, many of them reference a VERSION file which does not appear to exist anywhere:

version=`cat ../VERSION  | perl -p -e 's/^version\s*=\s*(.*)$/\1/'`
