Mangadex-py

A manga downloader for MangaDex.org, Using the new API.

small note: an object oriented version of the project can be found at Manrododex.

Inspiration

If these projects weren't available, mangadex-py would be a gallimaufry of python code.
some snippets were taken from them.

Requirements

• Python >= 3 should be fine.

How to use

1. Install the package
   The project had to be named Sydiepus-mangadex-py because 'mangadex-py' was creating conflict with another package.

pip3 install Sydiepus-mangadex-py 
# or
pip install Sydiepus-mangadex-py

To upgrade

pip install --upgrade Sydiepus-mangadex-py
# or
pip3 install --upgrade Sydiepus-mangadex-py

2. Use program.

mangadex-py <url or uuid>

Example url : https://mangadex.org/title/a96676e5-8ae2-425e-b549-7f15dd34a6d8/komi-san-wa-komyushou-desu

Downloading Manga

• By default no threads will be used.
• By default the english language will be used.
• By default the images will be download without any compression.
• By default a 'series.json' will be created inside manga_name folder like Mylar to be used by a comic server e.g : komga

mangadex-py mangadexurl/uuid -t 4 #download with 4 threads.

mangadex-py mangadexurl/uuid -l ru #download russian manga translation.

mangadex-py mangadexurl/uuid -ds data-save #download compressed images.

mangadex-py mangadexurl/uuid -d Books #will download to pwd/Books/manganame/

mangadex-py mangadexurl/uuid --name 'Manga Name' #change manga directory name

mangadex-py -F Manga.txt #will use pwd/Manga.txt as source of mangadexurl and manga name

-F / --File option

The file should be in the following format :

url1, manga name
url2
uuid1
url3, manga name

-A / --auth option

you'll be promted to enter username/email and password.
The program will log you in into your account and save the token used for authentication that will expire in 1 month i think.

-fl / --follow-list

this option will let you download the follow list or library mangadex link

-fldl / --follow-list-download

this option will update the follow.list and start downloading it.
the follow.list contains all the manga in your account any change to it delete/add will affect which manga are going to be downloaded.
i.e if you remove one from your library the program won't update it.
and if you add a new one it'll download it.

--zip_name

this option will let you use a custom naming scheme.
use "{}" to specify chapter number position from right to left.

-sc / --selchap

Select chapters to be downloaded.

• Can be singles seperated by ' ' (a space) e.g : "1 2 3 60"
• Or a range seperated by '-' e.g : "6-9 11-90"
• You can select specific chapters and a range e.g : '1 2 5-9' this will download the following chapters : 1 2 5 6 7 8 9
