The Hoverbike and Blazer Turbo Bike have lower Top Speeds than in OG #1411
Comments
We probably need to check this is a code issue or a #997 issue Depends how top speed is calculated - as there's the specified power of the engine, then a host of weight calcs depending on what equipment and ammo is loaded IIRC Will make a note to do some further investigation Thanks for report |
Have you looked at their speed in a side by side comparison with OG? |
I have. The top picture of the Hoverbike is from OG market while the bottom picture of the Hoverbike is from OpenApoc market. Same deal with the pictures of the Blazer Turbo Bike. Top picture OG, bottom picture OpenApoc. The pictures are taken from the Buy and Sell marketplace with default motor and equipment. |
I should have been more specific. I meant compare their speeds in the cityscape, like how many tiles per second they can cover. |
Nope. I haven't tested that. |
I can now confirm that the speeds of a Hoverbike and a Blazer Turbo Bike differ if compared between OG and OpenApoc. I made the Hoverbike and Blazer Turbo Bike race from the far left side of the cityscape map to the far right side of the cityscape map using straight roads in both OG and OpenApoc. The distances I used in both OG and OpenApoc were of identical length. The Hoverbike took 33 seconds in OG while in OpenApoc the same distance took 1 minute and 10 seconds. The Blazer Turbo Bike took 1 minute and 7 seconds in OG while in OpenApoc the same distance took 3 minutes and 29 seconds. |
I made the Hoverbike go a little further than the Blazer Turbo Bike because the Hoverbike hovers while the other bike has to use roads. I did the same thing in both OG and OpenApoc. |
Probably is a #997 issue, but it could still be fixed in the meantime. |
Tested this by having hoverbikes and blazer turbo bikes travel from roughly point A to roughly point B at normal speed in both the original and OpenApoc. It's not clear to me whether the aggression or altitude settings of the bikes matter. It's also possible my math might be wrong. Adding and subtracting minutes and seconds is annoying because I can't use a calculator. For me a hoverbike in the original took 40 seconds of game time and 40 seconds of real time to go from point A to point B. The blazer turbo bike took 1 minute, 4 seconds of game time and 1 minute, 4 seconds of real time to go from point A to point B. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVjgCWmUEzQ In OpenApoc, the hoverbike took 1 minute, 18 seconds in game time and 3 minutes, 56 seconds in real time to go from point A to point B. The blazer turbo bike took 3:29 seconds in game time and 10 minutes, 12 seconds in real time to get from point A to point B. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjVqiVguYvU Looks like this agrees with X-COM HUB's findings. |
Hoverbike Top Speed in OG: 14 VS. 10 in OpenApoc
Blazer Turbo Bike Top Speed in OG: 7 VS. 3 in OpenApoc
