I just saw a brainsucker jump three tiles high and successfully brainsuck one of my soldiers. This needs to be in OpenApoc.

To me it looks like this brainsucker jumps four tiles in the air. At a certain point my mouse hovers near the jumping brainsucker while it also shows the four tiles of elevation. It's possible this brainsucker may have jumped from the edge of the UFO rather than jumping from the ground, so better footage is probably needed to document the four tile brainsucker jump (update: footage exists that clearly shows the brainsucker on the ground before jumping. youtube video soon).

UFOpedia also claims that they can jump four tiles high.

It's probably worth mentioning this includes 4 tiles in each direction (including diagonal) which is why it is, on occasion, easy to misinterpret brainsuckers as jumping 6 or more tiles when leaps transverse a diagonal element as perspective representation of such a leap is not great

Brainsuckers, like their pods, are treated as objects that can strike things and bounce/fall accordingly

It is entirely possible in the OG for them to make a huge leap and "miss" either due to the agent moving away or a blocking object coming into path

Brainsuckers appear to have a limited capacity to "correct their path to target" mid leap and this can be observed by getting an agent to trigger a long-leap and moving into cover (for example around a corner) the brainsucker will try to "curve it's leap" mid flight to compensate

Hehe, it amuses me that the brainsuckers have Mario falling physics in midair. Four tiles seems right for the maximum jump height. This video clearly shows a brainsucker who is on the ground (not on the UFO as I thought he might be), and then a minute later this guy is cruising at about four Z-levels above ground.

I just saw this video of a jumping Brainsucker and thought I would share it here: https://youtu.be/l78ofOLrcvQ?list=PL818164E18D112F6F&t=1416

We must try to preserve these crazy jumping skills of the Brainsucker in OpenApoc.
