Why integration FIWARE Orion and OpenWhisk

When using FIWARE Orion, notification destination business logic may be required. We plan to make it easy to register business logic using a combination of FIWARE Orion and FaaS (Function as a Service).

Installation OpenWhisk

$ git clone https://github.com/apache/incubator-openwhisk-devtools.git
$ cd incubator-openwhisk-devtools/docker-compose
$ make quick-start

Installation CLI (Using Homebrew)

$ brew update
$ brew install wsk

Create fiware directory

$ mkdir fiware
$ cd fiware

Create Docker-Compose file for Orion

Create a new file called docker-compose.yml inside your directory with the following contents.

 mongo:
   image: mongo:3.6
   command: --nojournal
 orion:
   image: fiware/orion
   links:
     - mongo
   ports:
     - "1026:1026"
   command: -dbhost mongo

Deploy Orion

$ sudo docker-compose up

Create AirConditioner entity

Clone action script using git

Create action

Set orion_endpoint and threshold as a parameter

$ wsk -i action create switchAC switch_ac.py --param orion_endpoint http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1026 --param threshold 30

Update action

$ wsk -i action update "/_/switchAC" --web true

Create api

Get api endpoint.

$ wsk -i api create /switchAC post switchAC --response-type json

Create subscription
