Data View

Data Rollup are associated to an Envelope through Data View. That allows different data views for different envelopes (resources) independently of any other. This is important, as the bill reflects the charges accrued during a period of time. With data rollups, we store the relevant information only that belongs to a resource, while data views will store the information related to a know period, associated to an envelope, and thus available for rating.

Data views provide thus two functions:

• They are specific views of the data rollups for a known period. The data rollup will store all the information through time, while the data view only provides the information relevant to the associated envelope, that is time bounded.
• They also store costs in Money format. Due to that, you can use that stored data to have an estimate of the costs up to the last moment where the data views were updated. This can be used to present to the customer balances.
