Once achievibit is stable and have enough things to keep real users busy, we can start advertising achievibit.

Beta stage

Once we finish this steps, I think we're ready to see achievibit in action on a more regular basis. Ofc, we need some easy achievements to let users interact with achievibit when they first use it.

I think we need the following features in order to be interesting enough for beta users:

  • 10 accumulative achievements - counting achievements [Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, etc.]
  • 20 regular achievements

Ready for advertising

achievibit is fully fledged and interactive enough to keep users exploring even if they're not actually working on pull requests.

  • 20 accumulative achievements
  • 40 regular achievements
  • EXP & Level systems
  • Artifacts system
  • OAuth for user authentication
  • embed user achievements in other sites

This might be challenging in a design point of view since we need to start using some original art for this (artifact avatar, site assets, etc.)

how would we advertise?

Once we get some large repos that lots of people contribute to, it can help us spread the word. To do that, I think we need to start doing some of the following:

  • Maybe a bit too optimistic, but trying to share some small tools that people might use and make them popular while they use achievibit
  • Advertise achievibit on awesome boards like awesome javascript, Reddit, forums, and community base sites that might find this interesting.
  • Once we get to 500 users, we can ask GitHub to join the integration page
