Game Simulator Backend

Project description

The objective of this project is to achieve a treatment of the challenges of a video game. The game is a system of sports predictions. Each week Internet users participate in a league of sports predictions to try to win prizes and unlock challenges. Internet users can predict matches using their credits. The game contains a pane named Badge. Badges are challenges to be completed on the application (for example: bet on 10 predictions). The badges are distributed in grids always containing 9 badges...

Docker

If you want to just run the webapp without any setup:

  1. Install Docker
  2. Install docker-compose

Setup

  1. Install node.js (version 14 LTS recommended)
  2. In the project root, run docker-compose up (you'll need to install docker and docker-compse, see instructions above): this command will start up Kafka and Zookeeper on port 9092 on your computer.
  3. Go to the challenge-service + api-gateway + user-service, run npm install and then npm start:dev. (Make sure that the Kafka is running before launching the microservices.)

Packages

  • This is the backend server, which uses the Express and NestJS frameworks. you can start it from the section above.
  • To start the frontend, which is a React application. Run npm run start (in Game Simulator Front-end) to start the front end in development mode.
