WS2812 controlled by nodeMCU

tested on Adafruit Huzzah with FTDI cable

connect data pin to GPIO2

connect Vcc to V+

connect Gnd to Gnd

Upload init.lua to the nodeMCU (I used ESPlorer)

(remember to change the wifi credentials first)

cycle power on nodeMCU

check the ip address of the nodeMCU and connect to it!
