About

CrystalCompsDemo was developed at Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota, in 2016/2017 as part of a senior thesis project. This project aims to demonstrate the capabilities of CrystalAR, our Augmented Reality library. The library and this project has been open source since the beginning and is under active development.

CrystalCompsDemo aims to showcase the applications of CrystalAR:

  1. Finding corners in images/live feed.
  2. Recognize and tap on URLs and open them in a web browser
  3. Recognize and tap on phone numbers in an image and call the number
  4. Recognize and tap on emails in an image and open compose email on a Mail application
  5. Replace certain words in text
  6. Find the corners of a table
  7. Select and place an object on a table

Run CrystalCompsDemo

The app was developed for an Android platform and can be built and run on Android Studio. When running it on the emulator, assign a high RAM.
