Human Computer Interfaces we've built

Egg3D integration

In lab settings where you might need to interact with your sample but cannot touch a mouse or keyboard - surgical settings come to mind - inspection of produced 3D data can prove difficult. To ameliorate this problem, we have added support for the Leap Motion controller to ClearVolume. The Leap Motion controller is a touchless controller which recognises your hand movements, recording speed, velocity, acceleration and other parameters and forwards them to your computer. This enables the user to interact with 3D data such as volume renderings easily and without touching any surfaces.

In the current version of ClearVolume, we use the controller to enable the user to rotate the rendering. For the upcoming version, we also plan to allow the user to interact with ClearVolume through actual gestures, like swiping for browsing through different timepoints or views.
