pass-steam

A pass extension for managing Steam Guard codes

Usage

Usage:

    pass steam [code] [--clip,-c] pass-name
        Generate a Steam Guard code and optionally put it on the clipboard.
        If put on the clipboard, it will be cleared in $CLIP_TIME seconds.
        
    pass steam insert [--force,-f] [--echo,-e] [pass-name]
        Prompt for a new Steam Guard secret. If pass-name is not supplied, use the
        account nickname. Optionally, echo the input. Prompt before overwriting
        existing password unless forced. This command accepts input from stdin.
        Change your current Steam Guard mode to Email and attach a phone number.

Examples

Prompt for a Steam Guard token, hiding input:

$ pass steam insert
Enter Steam username for this account: 
Enter Steam password for this account:

Enter Email code and press Enter. Wait for an SMS, enter the code, and press Enter again

Insert into Steam/boilerplate? [y/N] y

Prompt for a Steam Guard, echoing input:

$ pass steam insert -e
Enter Steam username for this account: 
Enter Steam password for this account: visiblePassword

Enter Email code and press Enter. Wait for an SMS, enter the code, and press Enter again

Insert into Steam/boilerplate? [y/N] y

Generate a Steam Guard code using this token:

$ pass steam Steam/boilerplate
ABCDE

Installation

From git

git clone https://github.com/vanyasem/pass-steam
cd pass-steam
(GNU/Linux) sudo make install
(MacOS) make install PREFIX=/usr/local

Arch Linux

pass-steam is available in AUR:

pacaur -S pass-steam-git

Requirements

• pass 1.7.0 or later for extension support
• python-steam for generating Steam Guard codes
