1. Ok , I installed an ran cmake and it works if you pull the source with “git clone”. Great stuff. One question about the README.markdown:

The Readme says “## dfu-util (Not recommended on Windows)” and then some lines further down it says “You will know when you can stop holding the button when Windows notifies you via an audible cue that a USB device has connected.”. I would get rid of the “Windows” in one of the two line. I suggest to add and explanation what happens on Linux, once the iPhone is in DFU-mode.

Answer: In terms of Linux you could do lsusb until it’s seen. dfu-util is gradually being phased out anyway.

2. Is there a way to restore the iPhone from Linux?

Answer: There is currently no way to restore an IPSW directly from Linux. The necessary reverse-engineering has already been done by pumpkin, bushing and c1de0x, so that functionality will come in the medium-term future.
