Preliminary analysis of the Senate reimbursement for the year 2020

Highlight: Senator Humberto Costa's reimbursement amount, exceeding R $ 2 million in March 2020.

Supplier: Casa de Vinhos, in Pernambuco

Questions:

  1. Is there an invoice that describes the items consumed that add up to that amount?
  2. Did the establishment declare that same tax amount?
  3. Who authorized the payment of the amount?
  4. How did the senator have the disposition of this amount to make the payment?
  5. Has the senator declared this amount?
  6. And among the 5 highest reimbursement values, most are from the North, such as Rondônia and the Northeast, as in the case of Senator Humberto. What justifies these high values in the region?
  7. Why is there no cap on the refund amount?

Run: Python script 'senado2020.py' referring to * .CSV file 'senadores-2020-despesas.csv'
