RailsPlay

A playground to experiment with Rails quickly and easily.

Description

RailsPlay is a simple Rails app (5.0.0.1) containing a few models, views and seed data. The goal of RailsPlay is to provide an app with the most basic features in order to quickly test a gem or a piece of code in the context of a fully functional app.

Install

  1. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/nicoschuele/railsplay.git
  2. Install the necessary gems: bundle install
  3. Run the DB migrations: rails db:migrate
  4. Optionally, add initial data to the app: rails db:seed
  5. Launch your Rails server: rails s
  6. Run the app in your browser by visiting http://localhost:3000
