Since this project requires Python>=3.8, we can always import
Protocoldirectly fromtyping, makingtyping-extensionsunnecessary.This PR replaces
typing-extensionswithtypingin the only place it was used and removestyping-extensionsfrom the list of direct dev dependencies of the project.
