Welcome to version 0.14 of Dev Home! In this release, we focused on quality improvements and adding new features! Check them out:

Accessibility fixes

  • Text on widgets should no longer get cut off when scaling changes. (#2723)
  • Dev Home should no longer crash when in high contrast on the Introducing Dev Home page. (#2788)
  • The add widget dialog now has tooltips. (#2908)

Changes

  • Utilities are now in Dev Home, including Hosts File Editor, Registry Preview, and Environment Variables editor from PowerToys. (#2795)
  • Environments is no longer marked as an experimental feature. (#2811)
  • Quickstart playground is now available as an experimental feature, providing a containerized way of creating development projects using AI. (#2846)
  • Hyper-V VMs in environments are not currently available on ARM. (#2858)

Bug fixes

  • Links within Dev Drive insights should now work properly. (#2803)
  • Deleting a running Hyper-V VM should no longer cause a crash. (#2880)
  • You should now be able to pin widgets after unpinning all of your widgets. (#2687)

  • Narrator should now announce the headings of button groups and repository names within Machine Configuration. (#2490)

Welcome to version 0.12 of Dev Home! In this release, we focused on accessibility and quality improvements. Here are our latest changes:

Accessibility fixes

  • You can now use mouse navigation in Dev Home. (#2164)
  • Manage extension toggle now has an accessible name and Feedback is no longer clipped when text is scaled. (#2292)
  • Accessible names have been added to the buttons on the Introducing Dev Home page. (#2311)
  • Combo boxes in widgets should now have accessible names. (#2319)
  • The close button on the popular applications page in machine configuration now has an accessible name. (#2323)
  • Narrator should now announce the selection state of list items in widget tiles. (#2338)
  • Widgets now have more accessible colors for error messages and proper button styling. (#2349)

  • You can now select which app version you'd like to install when installing applications through machine configuration. (#2272)

Welcome to version 0.11 of Dev Home! In this release, we focused on multiple GitHub account support and quality improvements. Here are our latest changes:

Changes

  • Dev Home now supports multiple GitHub accounts. (#2140)
  • Error messages should now be displayed when running a DSC configuration file in Dev Home. (#2183) (#2197)
  • CPU, GPU, and Network widgets are now pinned by default after first launch. (#2233)

Bug fixes

  • Featured apps provided by extensions should now update properly when the extensions are installed, uninstalled, enabled, or disabled. (#2091)
  • The buttons on the GPU and Network widgets are back from their vacation. (#2208)
  • Dev Home should no longer get stuck on initialization after launching for the first time on Windows 10. (#2226)
  • Dev Home should use less of your CPU now with a fix to quiet the widgets down once navigating away from the dashboard. (#2240)
  • Dev Home now displays an error on the dashboard if catalog subscriptions fail. (#2253)
  • The dashboard should no longer hang if an extension that had widgets was uninstalled. (#2256)

  • App package titles are now fully visible when at 200% zoom. (#2037)

Accessibility fixes

  • The Pin button for adding widgets shouldn't get cut off anymore when the text scaling gets too large. (#1982)

Welcome to version 0.7 of Dev Home! In this release, we focused on creating the Azure extension to add in ADO features to Dev Home. Here are our latest improvements:

  • There's now an experimental features page in Settings. We don't have any experimental features yet, but now we have a place for them to be enabled once they're developed. (#1707)
  • Disabled widget sizes are now hidden from the context menu, rather than just appearing as disabled. (#1698)
  • You'll now be asked to sign in (if you haven't already) when attempting to clone a private repository by URL. (#1711)
  • There's now an option to report a documentation issue from the Feedback page (Thanks @hamnarauf!). (#1823)

Bug fixes

  • When adding multiple repositories to clone, you can now select a different clone path when re-entering the repository selection dialog and the previously selected repos won't update their clone location. (#1766)
  • The title bar should now properly update its colors when changing theme. (#1759)
