A recent survey we conducted found that a large number of students think parking is an issue at Prairie View A&M University. Our school has implemented a meter for the S.R. Collin's parking lot. However it is not accurate or reliable during peak times such as Homecoming, sporting events, and etc.
Our team will implement a system that tracks individual parking spots using sensors. To do so, we will create a simulated parking lot tracked by an embedded system. Data captured by this system will be outputted through a mobile app for students to use when they are searching for parking spaces.
