Migration from fs.conf to fscomp.conf

Luca Pizzamiglio edited this page Mar 16, 2018 · 1 revision

With the release of pot 0.5, a different file system configuration file is introduced, called fscomp.conf pots generated with previous version rely on fs.conf, that is still supported on pot 0.5, but it is deprecated. Its support will be removed with the 0.6 release

The migration can be performed in two way:

  • regenerate the pot
  • create the fscomp.conf manually, using fs.conf

Manual migration

The main difference between the old and the new file is the first column:

  • in fs.conf, it's the current mountpoint of the dataset
  • in fscomp.conf, it's the dataset name You have just to change the mountpoint with the dataset name of all file system components and to rename the file in fscomp.conf
