GNOME Shell Extension - Smart transparent topbar

NOTICE:

This extension is deprecated for Gnome 40, due to the numerous alternatives and the difficulty to port the preferences to GTK4 (and my lack of implication, too...).

Its behaviour will be implemented soon in Blur my Shell, see this issue for more infos. I highly recommend you to test this extension, and I will do my possible to port this!

A GNOME Shell extension that allows customizing the topbar when free-floating.

This extension now supports changing:

• topbar background color / opacity
• topbar text color / opacity
• transition duration
• transition distance

Between free-floating and non free-floating states :)

Install from source

To install the latest version (though maybe unstable), use the makefile:

git clone https://github.com/aunetx/smart-transparent-top-bar
cd smart-transparent-top-bar
make install

And restart GNOME Shell if needed.

The current extension supports those GNOME Shell versions:

• 3.32 (in previous release)
• 3.34 (in previous release)
• 3.36 (in previous release)
• 3.38
