You even can set different sources to different audio outputs!

Instalation

At the moment, you have to clone this repository, and run the installer script as root:

git clone https://github.com/agustinmista/PyAudioSelector.git
cd PyAudioSelector
sudo sh install.sh

It will automatically add the indicator to the autostart folder, so you don't have to start it mannualy every time.

Config file

Threre are some basic parameters such as refresh interval or some icons you can change by editing the config.ini file, located at /usr/share/PyAudioSelector/ after the installation

[constants]
refresh_interval = 5
connected_icon = gtk-connect
disconnected_icon = gtk-disconnect
indicator_icon = audio-speakers-symbolic
sound-settings-command = unity-control-center sound

Menu icons

If you don't see any icons on the menus, next command should do the trick:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface menus-have-icons true

ToDo

  • Create an Ubuntu PPA
  • Add a section for input devices
  • Unninstaller script
  • Custom icons
  • A fancier Readme ;-)
