Retrospective

Version 3.1.0

What went well?

  • Released significant changes to the code-base and it looks like only a minority of users have issues
  • Fast response to raised issues

What we could have done better?

  • We could have released another beta build and a release candidate before releasing the final build
  • We could have tested on older versions of OS X
  • We could have tested what happens if an upgrade (both Sparkle and non-Sparkle) happens

Actions

  • Test all new features or significant bug fixes in a beta build first
  • Deploy a release candidate before we make a build final
  • Test the upgrade path from the previous stable version to emulate what most users will be doing
  • For each upgrade, test on as many supported versions of OS X as possible: 10.8, 10.9, 10.10?, 10.11
