MMTabBarView -- ViennaRSS fork

This is the fork of MMTabBarView which is used to build Vienna, an open source RSS/Atom newsreader. During a period when MMTabBarView seemed to be neglected, Vienna developers felt compelled to make changes to it.

We currently try to limit widening of divergences with Michael Monscheuer's version, but at the time being, some noticeable changes remain:

  • while the original version requires 10.10+, Vienna's version up to v/1.4.12 were able to run on OS X 10.9. Later versions are build on Xcode 15 and have macOS 10.13 as minimum development target.
  • Vienna's version adds support of macOS Sierra style tabs (contributed by @yourhead)
  • we implement MMTabBarView's delegate property as weak, in order to avoid retain cycles
  • animations differ
  • we add a delegate method -tabView:selectOnClosingTabViewItem: for choice of next tab to be selected on closing a tab
  • we add a method -closeTabViewItem: for closing a tab view item, with due execution of all delegate methods
  • we add support of Swift Packet Manager (Cocoapod and Carthage remain supported)

Note that to limit risks of confusion with the original version, we use a v/x.x.x scheme for version numbering.
Ex: our v/1.4.7 can be compared to Mimo's v1.4.1

Original ReadMe

A Mac OS X tab bar view that works on 10.10+ with Xcode 9.3 or higher.
MMTabBarView is a modernized and view based re-write of PSMTabBarControl,
which can be found here: https://github.com/dorianj/PSMTabBarControl
Though MMTabBarView's API is quite similar, it is no drop-in replacement for PSMTabBarControl. The MMTabBarViewDelegate protocol is somewhat different. But MMTabBarView will help you: The methods of the delegate protocol of PSMTabBarControl have been included and set to deprecated. That means your compiler shows deprecation warnings (if switched on) for all your old delegate method implementations. Transition will be a matter of minutes.

Building

To, build, simply open default.xcworkspace, choose MMTabBarView Demo scheme and run. The workspace contains two projects, the MMTabBarView framework and the Demo application.

Installing

Add the .framework bundle to your Xcode project, and add it to the Linked Frameworks and Libraries (under Target -> Summary). Next, under Target -> Build Phases, Add a new build phase that copies it to the Frameworks directory of your app. (Add Build Phase > Copy Files. Destination: Frameworks).
Do not forget to set LD_RUNPATH_SEARCH_PATHS to @loader_path/../Frameworks in your Xcode project.

Since 2005 there have been lots of commits by various contributors.
Thanks to the guys recently improved PSMTabBarControl and inspired me to finally do the re-write!
