This fixes CVE-2018-16658. (torvalds/linux@8f3fafc) Like d88b6d04: "cdrom: information leak in cdrom_ioctl_media_changed()" There is another cast from unsigned long to int which causes a bounds check to fail with specially crafted input. The value is then used as an index in the slot array in cdrom_slot_status(). …FIONREAD) This fixes CVE-2018-18386. (torvalds/linux@966031f) We added support for EXTPROC back in 2010 in commit 26df6d1 ("tty: Add EXTPROC support for LINEMODE") and the intent was to allow it to override some (all?) ICANON behavior. Quoting from that original commit message: There is a new bit in the termios local flag word, EXTPROC. When this bit is set, several aspects of the terminal driver are disabled. Input line editing, character echo, and mapping of signals are all disabled. This allows the telnetd to turn off these functions when in linemode, but still keep track of what state the user wants the terminal to be in. but the problem turns out that "several aspects of the terminal driver are disabled" is a bit ambiguous, and you can really confuse the n_tty layer by setting EXTPROC and then causing some of the ICANON invariants to no longer be maintained. This fixes at least one such case (TIOCINQ) becoming unhappy because of the confusion over whether ICANON really means ICANON when EXTPROC is set. This basically makes TIOCINQ match the case of read: if EXTPROC is set, we ignore ICANON. Also, make sure to reset the ICANON state ie EXTPROC changes, not just if ICANON changes. … during ATTR_REPLACE This fixes CVE-2018-18690. (torvalds/linux@7b38460) Kanda Motohiro reported that expanding a tiny xattr into a large xattr fails on XFS because we remove the tiny xattr from a shortform fork and then try to re-add it after converting the fork to extents format having not removed the ATTR_REPLACE flag. This fails because the attr is no longer present, causing a fs shutdown. This is derived from the patch in his bug report, but we really shouldn't ignore a nonzero retval from the remove call. This is only accessible to CAP_NET_ADMIN though. Let's manually copy the relevant fields instead of using memcpy(). This fixes CVE-2017-18360. (torvalds/linux@6aeb75e) Fix a division-by-zero in set_termios when debugging is enabled and a high-enough speed has been requested so that the divisor value becomes zero. Instead of just fixing the offending debug statement, cap the baud rate at the base as a zero divisor value also appears to crash the firmware. [ Upstream commit d754941225a7dbc61f6dd2173fa9498049f9a7ee ] If, for any reason, userland shuts down iscsi transport interfaces before proper logouts - like when logging in to LUNs manually, without logging out on server shutdown, or when automated scripts can't umount/logout from logged LUNs - kernel will hang forever on its sd_sync_cache() logic, after issuing the SYNCHRONIZE_CACHE cmd to all still existent paths. PID: 1 TASK: ffff8801a69b8000 CPU: 1 COMMAND: "systemd-shutdow" #0 [ffff8801a69c3a30] __schedule at ffffffff8183e9ee #1 [ffff8801a69c3a80] schedule at ffffffff8183f0d5 #2 [ffff8801a69c3a98] schedule_timeout at ffffffff81842199 #3 [ffff8801a69c3b40] io_schedule_timeout at ffffffff8183e604 Valera1978#4 [ffff8801a69c3b70] wait_for_completion_io_timeout at ffffffff8183fc6c Valera1978#5 [ffff8801a69c3bd0] blk_execute_rq at ffffffff813cfe10 Valera1978#6 [ffff8801a69c3c88] scsi_execute at ffffffff815c3fc7 Valera1978#7 [ffff8801a69c3cc8] scsi_execute_req_flags at ffffffff815c60fe Valera1978#8 [ffff8801a69c3d30] sd_sync_cache at ffffffff815d37d7 Valera1978#9 [ffff8801a69c3da8] sd_shutdown at ffffffff815d3c3c This happens because iscsi_eh_cmd_timed_out(), the transport layer timeout helper, would tell the queue timeout function (scsi_times_out) to reset the request timer over and over, until the session state is back to logged in state. Unfortunately, during server shutdown, this might never happen again. Other option would be "not to handle" the issue in the transport layer. That would trigger the error handler logic, which would also need the session state to be logged in again. Best option, for such case, is to tell upper layers that the command was handled during the transport layer error handler helper, marking it as DID_NO_CONNECT, which will allow completion and inform about the problem. After the session was marked as ISCSI_STATE_FAILED, due to the first timeout during the server shutdown phase, all subsequent cmds will fail to be queued, allowing upper logic to fail faster. As part of the flush, it tried to acquire the super_block->s_umount lock associated with the cdrom device. This was the same super_block as created and locked by the previous task. The first task acquires the s_umount lock and then the sr_mutex_lock; the second task acquires the sr_mutex_lock and then the s_umount lock. [ Upstream commit 9954b80b8c0e8abc98e17bba0fccd9876211ceaa ] platform_domain_notifier contains a variable sized array, which the pm_clk_notify() notifier treats as a NULL terminated array: for (con_id = clknb->con_ids; *con_id; con_id++) pm_clk_add(dev, *con_id); Omitting the initialiser for con_ids means that the array is zero sized, and there is no NULL terminator. [ Upstream commit 934140ab028713a61de8bca58c05332416d037d1 ] cachefiles_read_waiter() has the right to access a 'monitor' object by virtue of being called under the waitqueue lock for one of the pages in its purview. However, it has no ref on that monitor object or on the associated operation. What it is allowed to do is to move the monitor object to the operation's to_do list, but once it drops the work_lock, it's actually no longer permitted to access that object. However, it is trying to enqueue the retrieval operation for processing - but it can only do this via a pointer in the monitor object, something it shouldn't be doing. If it doesn't enqueue the operation, the operation may not get processed. If the order is flipped so that the enqueue is first, then it's possible for the work processor to look at the to_do list before the monitor is enqueued upon it. Fix this by getting a ref on the operation so that we can trust that it will still be there once we've added the monitor to the to_do list and dropped the work_lock. The op can then be enqueued after the lock is dropped. The bug can manifest in one of a couple of ways. The first manifestation looks like: FS-Cache: FS-Cache: Assertion failed FS-Cache: 6 == 5 is false ------------[ cut here ]------------ kernel BUG at fs/fscache/operation.c:494! RIP: 0010:fscache_put_operation+0x1e3/0x1f0 ... fscache_op_work_func+0x26/0x50 process_one_work+0x131/0x290 worker_thread+0x45/0x360 kthread+0xf8/0x130 ? create_worker+0x190/0x190 ? kthread_cancel_work_sync+0x10/0x10 ret_from_fork+0x1f/0x30 This is due to the operation being in the DEAD state (6) rather than INITIALISED, COMPLETE or CANCELLED (5) because it's already passed through fscache_put_operation(). The bug can also manifest like the following: kernel BUG at fs/fscache/operation.c:69! ... [exception RIP: fscache_enqueue_operation+246] ... [ Upstream commit c5a94f434c82529afda290df3235e4d85873c5b4 ] It was observed that a process blocked indefintely in __fscache_read_or_alloc_page(), waiting for FSCACHE_COOKIE_LOOKING_UP to be cleared via fscache_wait_for_deferred_lookup(). At this time, ->backing_objects was empty, which would normaly prevent __fscache_read_or_alloc_page() from getting to the point of waiting. This implies that ->backing_objects was cleared *after* __fscache_read_or_alloc_page was was entered. When an object is "killed" and then "dropped", FSCACHE_COOKIE_LOOKING_UP is cleared in fscache_lookup_failure(), then KILL_OBJECT and DROP_OBJECT are "called" and only in DROP_OBJECT is ->backing_objects cleared. This leaves a window where something else can set FSCACHE_COOKIE_LOOKING_UP and __fscache_read_or_alloc_page() can start waiting, before ->backing_objects is cleared There is some uncertainty in this analysis, but it seems to be fit the observations. Adding the wake in this patch will be handled correctly by __fscache_read_or_alloc_page(), as it checks if ->backing_objects is empty again, after waiting. Customer which reported the hang, also report that the hang cannot be reproduced with this fix. The backtrace for the blocked process looked like: PID: 29360 TASK: ffff881ff2ac0f80 CPU: 3 COMMAND: "zsh" #0 [ffff881ff43efbf8] schedule at ffffffff815e56f1 #1 [ffff881ff43efc58] bit_wait at ffffffff815e64ed #2 [ffff881ff43efc68] __wait_on_bit at ffffffff815e61b8 #3 [ffff881ff43efca0] out_of_line_wait_on_bit at ffffffff815e625e Valera1978#4 [ffff881ff43efd08] fscache_wait_for_deferred_lookup at ffffffffa04f2e8f [fscache] Valera1978#5 [ffff881ff43efd18] __fscache_read_or_alloc_page at ffffffffa04f2ffe [fscache] Valera1978#6 [ffff881ff43efd58] __nfs_readpage_from_fscache at ffffffffa0679668 [nfs] Valera1978#7 [ffff881ff43efd78] nfs_readpage at ffffffffa067092b [nfs] Valera1978#8 [ffff881ff43efda0] generic_file_read_iter at ffffffff81187a73 Valera1978#9 [ffff881ff43efe50] nfs_file_read at ffffffffa066544b [nfs] Valera1978#10 [ffff881ff43efe70] __vfs_read at ffffffff811fc756 #11 [ffff881ff43efee8] vfs_read at ffffffff811fccfa #12 [ffff881ff43eff18] sys_read at ffffffff811fda62 #13 [ffff881ff43eff50] entry_SYSCALL_64_fastpath at ffffffff815e986e Signed-off-by: NeilBrown <neilb@suse.com> Signed-off-by: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sashal@kernel.org>

This fixes CVE-2019-11486. (torvalds/linux@c7084ed) The n_r3964 line discipline driver was written in a different time, when SMP machines were rare, and users were trusted to do the right thing. Since then, the world has moved on but not this code, it has stayed rooted in the past with its lovely hand-crafted list structures and loads of "interesting" race conditions all over the place. After attempting to clean up most of the issues, I just gave up and am now marking the driver as BROKEN so that hopefully someone who has this hardware will show up out of the woodwork (I know you are out there!) and will help with debugging a raft of changes that I had laying around for the code, but was too afraid to commit as odds are they would break things. Many thanks to Jann and Linus for pointing out the initial problems in this codebase, as well as many reviews of my attempts to fix the issues. It was a case of whack-a-mole, and as you can see, the mole won. This fixes CVE-2017-18221. (torvalds/linux@70feee0) Kefeng reported that when running the follow test, the mlock count in meminfo will increase permanently: [1] testcase linux:~ # cat test_mlockal grep Mlocked /proc/meminfo for j in `seq 0 10` do for i in `seq 4 15` do ./p_mlockall >> log & done sleep 0.2 done # wait some time to let mlock counter decrease and 5s may not enough sleep 5 grep Mlocked /proc/meminfo linux:~ # cat p_mlockall.c #include <sys/mman.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <stdio.h> #define SPACE_LEN 4096 int main(int argc, char ** argv) { int ret; void *adr = malloc(SPACE_LEN); if (!adr) return -1; ret = mlockall(MCL_CURRENT | MCL_FUTURE); printf("mlcokall ret = %d\n", ret); ret = munlockall(); printf("munlcokall ret = %d\n", ret); free(adr); return 0; } In __munlock_pagevec() we should decrement NR_MLOCK for each page where we clear the PageMlocked flag. Commit 1ebb7cc ("mm: munlock: batch NR_MLOCK zone state updates") has introduced a bug where we don't decrement NR_MLOCK for pages where we clear the flag, but fail to isolate them from the lru list (e.g. when the pages are on some other cpu's percpu pagevec). Since PageMlocked stays cleared, the NR_MLOCK accounting gets permanently disrupted by this. Fix it by counting the number of page whose PageMlock flag is cleared. [ Upstream commit 42ffb0bf584ae5b6b38f72259af1e0ee417ac77f ] There exists a deadlock with range_cyclic that has existed forever. If we loop around with a bio already built we could deadlock with a writer who has the page locked that we're attempting to write but is waiting on a page in our bio to be written out. The task traces are as follows PID: 1329874 TASK: ffff889ebcdf3800 CPU: 33 COMMAND: "kworker/u113:5" #0 [ffffc900297bb658] __schedule at ffffffff81a4c33f #1 [ffffc900297bb6e0] schedule at ffffffff81a4c6e3 #2 [ffffc900297bb6f8] io_schedule at ffffffff81a4ca42 #3 [ffffc900297bb708] __lock_page at ffffffff811f145b Valera1978#4 [ffffc900297bb798] __process_pages_contig at ffffffff814bc502 Valera1978#5 [ffffc900297bb8c8] lock_delalloc_pages at ffffffff814bc684 Valera1978#6 [ffffc900297bb900] find_lock_delalloc_range at ffffffff814be9ff Valera1978#7 [ffffc900297bb9a0] writepage_delalloc at ffffffff814bebd0 Valera1978#8 [ffffc900297bba18] __extent_writepage at ffffffff814bfbf2 Valera1978#9 [ffffc900297bba98] extent_write_cache_pages at ffffffff814bffbd PID: 2167901 TASK: ffff889dc6a59c00 CPU: 14 COMMAND: "aio-dio-invalid" #0 [ffffc9003b50bb18] __schedule at ffffffff81a4c33f #1 [ffffc9003b50bba0] schedule at ffffffff81a4c6e3 #2 [ffffc9003b50bbb8] io_schedule at ffffffff81a4ca42 #3 [ffffc9003b50bbc8] wait_on_page_bit at ffffffff811f24d6 Valera1978#4 [ffffc9003b50bc60] prepare_pages at ffffffff814b05a7 Valera1978#5 [ffffc9003b50bcd8] btrfs_buffered_write at ffffffff814b1359 Valera1978#6 [ffffc9003b50bdb0] btrfs_file_write_iter at ffffffff814b5933 Valera1978#7 [ffffc9003b50be38] new_sync_write at ffffffff8128f6a8 Valera1978#8 [ffffc9003b50bec8] vfs_write at ffffffff81292b9d Valera1978#9 [ffffc9003b50bf00] ksys_pwrite64 at ffffffff81293032 I used drgn to find the respective pages we were stuck on page_entry.page 0xffffea00fbfc7500 index 8148 bit 15 pid 2167901 page_entry.page 0xffffea00f9bb7400 index 7680 bit 0 pid 1329874 As you can see the kworker is waiting for bit 0 (PG_locked) on index 7680, and aio-dio-invalid is waiting for bit 15 (PG_writeback) on index 8148. aio-dio-invalid has 7680, and the kworker epd looks like the following crash> struct extent_page_data ffffc900297bbbb0 struct extent_page_data { bio = 0xffff889f747ed830, tree = 0xffff889eed6ba448, extent_locked = 0, sync_io = 0 } Probably worth mentioning as well that it waits for writeback of the page to complete while holding a lock on it (at prepare_pages()). Using drgn I walked the bio pages looking for page 0xffffea00fbfc7500 which is the one we're waiting for writeback on bio = Object(prog, 'struct bio', address=0xffff889f747ed830) for i in range(0, bio.bi_vcnt.value_()): bv = bio.bi_io_vec[i] if bv.bv_page.value_() == 0xffffea00fbfc7500: print("FOUND IT") which validated what I suspected. The fix for this is simple, flush the epd before we loop back around to the beginning of the file during writeout. This reverts commit 8e824b5. It caused the following compilation error: drivers/char/ipmi/ipmi_msghandler.c: In function 'free_user': drivers/char/ipmi/ipmi_msghandler.c:1034:27: error: 'struct ipmi_user' has no member named 'release_barrier' 1034 | cleanup_srcu_struct(&user->release_barrier); | ^~ Not only that, but it's completely incorrect, and the original commit isn't even applicable. For the purposes of naming and shaming, I had got it from here: cschsz/android_kernel_samsung_exynos7870@20d3b68 and here's a pull request with it: Valera1978/android_kernel_samsung_exynos7870#9 Signed-off-by: TALU <taluemail272@gmail.com>

[ Upstream commit c5c97cadd7ed13381cb6b4bef5c841a66938d350 ] The ubsan reported the following error. It was because sample's raw data missed u32 padding at the end. So it broke the alignment of the array after it. The raw data contains an u32 size prefix so the data size should have an u32 padding after 8-byte aligned data. 27: Sample parsing :util/synthetic-events.c:1539:4: runtime error: store to misaligned address 0x62100006b9bc for type '__u64' (aka 'unsigned long long'), which requires 8 byte alignment 0x62100006b9bc: note: pointer points here 00 00 00 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ^ #0 0x561532a9fc96 in perf_event__synthesize_sample util/synthetic-events.c:1539:13 #1 0x5615327f4a4f in do_test tests/sample-parsing.c:284:8 #2 0x5615327f3f50 in test__sample_parsing tests/sample-parsing.c:381:9 #3 0x56153279d3a1 in run_test tests/builtin-test.c:424:9 Valera1978#4 0x56153279c836 in test_and_print tests/builtin-test.c:454:9 Valera1978#5 0x56153279b7eb in __cmd_test tests/builtin-test.c:675:4 Valera1978#6 0x56153279abf0 in cmd_test tests/builtin-test.c:821:9 Valera1978#7 0x56153264e796 in run_builtin perf.c:312:11 Valera1978#8 0x56153264cf03 in handle_internal_command perf.c:364:8 Valera1978#9 0x56153264e47d in run_argv perf.c:408:2 Valera1978#10 0x56153264c9a9 in main perf.c:538:3 #11 0x7f137ab6fbbc in __libc_start_main (/lib64/libc.so.6+0x38bbc) #12 0x561532596828 in _start ... [ Upstream commit cca342d98bef68151a80b024f7bf5f388d1fbdea ] A different wait queue was used when removing ctrl_wait than when adding it. This effectively made the remove operation without locking compared to other operations on the wait queue ctrl_wait was part of. This caused issues like below where dead000000000100 is LIST_POISON1 and dead000000000200 is LIST_POISON2. list_add corruption. next->prev should be prev (ffffffc1b0a33a08), \ but was dead000000000200. commit 42252d0d2aa9b94d168241710a761588b3959019 upstream. This patch fixes an invalid read showed by KASAN. A unlock will allocate a "struct plock_op" and a followed send_op() will append it to a global send_list data structure. In some cases a followed dev_read() moves it to recv_list and dev_write() will cast it to "struct plock_xop" and access fields which are only available in those structures. At this point an invalid read happens by accessing those fields. To fix this issue the "callback" field is moved to "struct plock_op" to indicate that a cast to "plock_xop" is allowed and does the additional "plock_xop" handling if set. Example of the KASAN output which showed the invalid read: [ 2064.296453] ================================================================== [ 2064.304852] BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in dev_write+0x52b/0x5a0 [dlm] [ 2064.306491] Read of size 8 at addr ffff88800ef227d8 by task dlm_controld/7484 [ 2064.308168] [ 2064.308575] CPU: 0 PID: 7484 Comm: dlm_controld Kdump: loaded Not tainted 5.14.0+ Valera1978#9 [ 2064.310292] Hardware name: Red Hat KVM, BIOS 0.5.1 01/01/2011 [ 2064.311618] Call Trace: [ 2064.312218] dump_stack_lvl+0x56/0x7b [ 2064.313150] print_address_description.constprop.8+0x21/0x150 [ 2064.314578] ? …g the sock [ Upstream commit 3cf7203ca620682165706f70a1b12b5194607dce ] There is a race condition in vxlan that when deleting a vxlan device during receiving packets, there is a possibility that the sock is released after getting vxlan_sock vs from sk_user_data. Then in later vxlan_ecn_decapsulate(), vxlan_get_sk_family() we will got NULL pointer dereference. e.g. #0 [ffffa25ec6978a38] machine_kexec at ffffffff8c669757 #1 [ffffa25ec6978a90] __crash_kexec at ffffffff8c7c0a4d #2 [ffffa25ec6978b58] crash_kexec at ffffffff8c7c1c48 #3 [ffffa25ec6978b60] oops_end at ffffffff8c627f2b Valera1978#4 [ffffa25ec6978b80] page_fault_oops at ffffffff8c678fcb Valera1978#5 [ffffa25ec6978bd8] exc_page_fault at ffffffff8d109542 Valera1978#6 [ffffa25ec6978c00] asm_exc_page_fault at ffffffff8d200b62 [exception RIP: vxlan_ecn_decapsulate+0x3b] RIP: ffffffffc1014e7b RSP: ffffa25ec6978cb0 RFLAGS: 00010246 RAX: 0000000000000008 RBX: ffff8aa000888000 RCX: 0000000000000000 RDX: 000000000000000e RSI: ffff8a9fc7ab803e RDI: ffff8a9fd1168700 RBP: ffff8a9fc7ab803e R8: 0000000000700000 R9: 00000000000010ae R10: ffff8a9fcb748980 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: ffff8a9fd1168700 R13: ffff8aa000888000 R14: 00000000002a0000 R15: 00000000000010ae ORIG_RAX: ffffffffffffffff CS: 0010 SS: 0018 Valera1978#7 [ffffa25ec6978ce8] vxlan_rcv at ffffffffc10189cd [vxlan] Valera1978#8 [ffffa25ec6978d90] udp_queue_rcv_one_skb at ffffffff8cfb6507 Valera1978#9 [ffffa25ec6978dc0] udp_unicast_rcv_skb at ffffffff8cfb6e45 Valera1978#10 [ffffa25ec6978dc8] __udp4_lib_rcv at ffffffff8cfb8807 #11 [ffffa25ec6978e20] ip_protocol_deliver_rcu at ffffffff8cf76951 #12 [ffffa25ec6978e48] ip_local_deliver at ffffffff8cf76bde #13 [ffffa25ec6978ea0] __netif_receive_skb_one_core at ffffffff8cecde9b #14 [ffffa25ec6978ec8] process_backlog at ffffffff8cece139 #15 [ffffa25ec6978f00] __napi_poll at ffffffff8ceced1a #16 [ffffa25ec6978f28] net_rx_action at ffffffff8cecf1f3 #17 [ffffa25ec6978fa0] __softirqentry_text_start at ffffffff8d4000ca #18 [ffffa25ec6978ff0] do_softirq at ffffffff8c6fbdc3 Reproducer: https://github.com/Mellanox/ovs-tests/blob/master/test-ovs-vxlan-remove-tunnel-during-traffic.sh Fix this by waiting for all sk_user_data reader to finish before releasing the sock.
