Inspired by Ole's work, use AWS Transcribe to convert voice to text. Then use Ole's project to generate the md file. Thanks, Ole.

English is not my mother language. Even if I have edited the transcript twice, still remain some unclear parts.

Hope someone can help proofread the transcript, especially the // unclear parts.

Besides, we are also planning to translate episode transcripts to Chinese and spread it among Chinese developers.

Thanks a lot for this @numbbbbb! 🙂 However, I'm not personally sure how we would use these transcripts. @ole, @garricn, @lattner, any ideas? 🤔

@numbbbbb Thanks for doing the work. I know editing these transcripts can take a long time.

As for @JohnSundell's question, I think if someone is willing to do the work to create a transcript (as @numbbbbb has), we could at least link to it from the episode page, as we did for episode 1 (in PR #52). That way, people who look for the transcript will find it and there's also a chance that people find the episode by googling for a specific phrase.

I mentioned before that there are web audio players that can display transcripts inline and sync them to the audio. One example is the Podlove Web Player. (The Podlove Web Player expects its transcripts in a specific JSON format, but it should be relatively easy to transform our WebVTT transcripts into that format.)

Setting this up would be cool IMO and would have other advantages over the current web player (e.g. chapter support, although I don't know if we even have chapters markers in the episodes currently), but it's not essential.

I think we should generally treat transcripts as a "nice to have but not essential" feature. If someone is willing to put in the work to create a transcript for an episode, that's great. But if we end up only having transcripts for a few episodes, that's totally fine. I certainly saw my work on the transcript for episode 1 as a one-off thing that I wouldn't be willing/able to repeat for every episode. It really is very time-consuming.

Yeah, I think it's good if we can find some players to display transcripts. I'll try Podlove later, thanks Ole!

Also, it seems WebVTT is supported by most modern browsers. Maybe we can add transcript support to current website player. Thus people who need to look up unknown words(like me) or want to see the transcript in other languages can do that on the website directly.
