#Welcome to the PressForward TurnKey Theme Wiki
The PressForward-TurnKey theme is designed to work alongside the PressForward plugin and aid in the creation of a PressForward publication. The theme features an optional homepage template with numerous blocks that allow users to feature a variety of text heavy content based on category. The homepage blocks can be turned on and off and the content can be manipulated to fit a variety of different publication styles. The slider pulls in the featured image from a post and the PressForward author (if the PressForward plugin is active). On individual pages, users can customize the display of the author, comments, and, optionally, display PressForward nomination counts on individual posts. While this theme is designed to compliment the workflow of a PressForward publication it is optimized for use with any site. The theme is designed using the JointsWP, Foundation, Font Awesome, and Kirki libraries and is responsive and accessibility ready.
- Download the most recent version of the zip version from the GitHub Repository
- In the WordPress directory under 'Themes' select 'Add New' and upload the zip folder.
- Activate the theme via the 'Themes' directory in the WordPress dashboard.
- The PressForward TurnKey Theme Options panel will appear in the WordPress dashboard at the bottom of the left Wordpress Menu and at the top of the WordPress admin bar.

- Unzip the directory and place it into your '/wp-content/themes' directory using your FTP client.
- Activate the theme via the 'Themes' directory in the WordPress dashboard.
- The PressForward TurnKey Theme Options panel will appear in the WordPress dashboard at the bottom of the left Wordpress Menu and at the top of the WordPress admin bar.
All theme options can be found in the WordPress Customizer. The three panels with options specific to the Turnkey theme are: Homepage Layout, Design Elements, and Content Options. The PressForward TurnKey Theme is developed and maintained by the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University as part of the PressForward Project, generously funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The theme is based on the Brew theme by Dan Wild and built on the Bootstrap and Bones frameworks. It includes Liquid Slider, Font Awesome, and the Redux Options Framework. The PressForward TurnKey Theme is free to use and modify under a GNU GPL2 license.
