** First things to do before install !!

  • check for the folder .config/autostart by typing 'ls -al ~/.config/autostart'. If this folder does not exist create it by typing 'mkdir ~/.config/autostart'.
  • Create a folder with .jpg files in them, later after install you can point Lswc to that folder.

Some hints and tips

  • If you would like to change the folder, just remove the 'lswc' folder from '.config' and the dialogue appears again after the time that it would normally change your wallpaper. So it can take a few minutes. After that the dialogue appears again asking you which folder filled with jpg files it should use. Now pointed to that folder, LSWC continues to change your wallpaper.

  • It doesn't matter if your files have the JPG or jpg extension.

  • LSWC is tested on Ubuntu 8.10, and 19.4 and still works great

  • LSWC is written in Python3 so it will last a long time since python2.7 is going to end soon.

  • Keep your images small by reducing their size with the Nautilus image converter. under 500Kb preferable. Install this converter like this: sudo apt install nautilus-image-converter, push ALT-F2, type r and right-click your image and choose 'resize images'. This way the image is loaded quicker and doesn't take much of your precious memory.
