KMP - Windows File Too Long Copier

  • Program to help copy folder content with too long of a filename in Windows OS.
  • This program can also help copy folder content that prompt the following messages, even when you are an administrator:
    • "Access Denied"
    • "You need permission to perform this action"
    • "You require permission from the computer's administrator to make changes to this file"
  • Made using Microsoft's Robocopy and Batch scripting.

Prerequisites

  • Windows NT 4 and later
  • Administrator Access

Written Guide

  1. Download the .EXE or .BAT file
  • N.B. if using the .BAT file, make sure you run it as Administrator. The .EXE file already includes Administrator manifest.
  1. Run windows-file-too-long-copier

  2. Enter the source path for the folder containing all the content you want to copy.

  3. Enter the destination path of where you'd like to copy the folder to.
