Pre-built Extensions for Firefox

For convenience, we provide pre-built extension packages for various versions of Firefox.

The "Platforms" column below denotes what platforms that pre-built extension works on. For older versions of Firefox (i.e., before Firefox 33) we only provide pre-built extensions for Windows and Mac OS. If you would like to use River Trail on an older version of Firefox on Linux, please build the extension from source (see this README for detailed instructions).

Version 0.35.0 of River Trail is numbered to match the release of Firefox that is current at the time of this writing: Firefox 35. However, it is also known to work with Firefox 33 and 34, and we expect it to work with future releases of Firefox as well.

Notes for Firefox 25 and earlier

Versions of River Trail for Firefox 25 and earlier make heavy use of the Components.interfaces hierarchy in the compiler implementation.

However, in Firefox 22 through 25, the Components object is disabled by default. To use River Trail with these versions of Firefox, you have to set the dom.omit_components_in_content key in about:config to false. Detailed instructions on changing configuration variables are available in, for instance, the MozillaZine knowledge base.
