New versions of RSocrata are typically released every quarter: January, April, July, and October. We welcome contributors to help on this project and must read the contributor guidelines. The version numbers of RSocrata follow the recommendations of Semantic Versioning 2.0.0.
The next release is slated to be v1.8.0. The tentative list of bug fixes and issues is available here, but is not finalized.

The project is maintained by the City of Chicago and led by the core development team:
The core development team has the responsibility to determine, with input from the open source community, the final roadmap, decide which features and bug fixes are included in the CRAN release, and the policies and guidelines for the project.
