Visualises the growing terms of service employed by tech platforms, as well as the declining survival rates of websites.

In 2005, Facebook's terms of service comprised two policies totalling under 3 000 words. Since then, they've grown tenfold into a behomoth comprising at least nine policies.

Reproduce the analysis

We typically publish graphics using Quarto notebooks, which can be found in the*.qmd files. Quarto allows reproducible analysis and visualisation to be done in a mix of languages, but we typically use R and Observable JS.
